Social Media Marketing Strategy
There, are numerous approaches to conducting social media marketing strategy, but at their core, all go through four steps:
1. Identifying the opportunities and/or challenges in a business where online assets can provide a solution;
2. Identifying the unmet needs and goals of the external stakeholders that most closely align with those key business opportunities and/or challenges;
3. developing a vision around how the online assets will fulfill those business and external stakeholder needs, goals, opportunities and challenges,
4. prioritizing a set of online initiatives which can deliver on this vision.
Within each of those stages, a number of techniques and analyses may be employed.

“Excellent course! Very relevant to the changing business and social environment around us. Good exposure to the digital ‘’ecosystem’’ we operate in, both professional and socially. Good roadmap provided to navigate our exposure and activity within the Digital and Social Media landscape.”
Christo Nel, Director Sales and Marketing, UVEX SAFETY
“I absolutely loved this course! Very informative and I have learned a lot! The course facilities are also amazing and the service has been spectacular. Hugh is an excellent, knowledgeable lecturer. I would be very interested in doing the 3 day Digital Marketing course as I feel I still a lot to learn. Oh, and all the quirky handouts from the venue really make this a relaxed and interactive environment!”
Angela Blake, Sales Office Manager, Leader Rubber Co.
“Positive reviews: Knowledge factor. Small classes which allow for direct engagement. Perfect rate for overall presentation. Neutral, objective tone used. Presented new thoughts, new creative approaches. Provided broad spectrum of channels where social media is concerned. Provided step-by-step guides (practical ones). Shortcuts. Great venue, great food, great vibe. Overall a great workshop, lots learned. Would be highly interested in the 3-day Digital Marketing course.”
Gugu Gumede, LegalWise
“The workshop was informative in terms of different strategies and communication methods for a business. Highly recommendable for anyone that wants to expand their social media knowledge.”
Zoe Aphane, Social Media Manager, FX Productions
“The course was honestly an eye opener. I use Facebook and other social media on a daily basis but I never knew how they are interlinked. I learned a whole lot of new things; how to boost posts; how it is so important to get people to engage rather than getting many ‘Likes’. I personally like the tutorials on Canva. I understand that the audience that we are targeting has to understand our posts. I also learned that the same post can be used over and over again. The facilitator was amazing.”
Lerato Dolo , Westgate Super Regional Shopping Centre
“I enjoyed the class. I have learnt more about Social media. All my questions I had, were answered fully. I like the fact that there is post-support as well. This will assist me if there are other questions that I may have to be answered. Hugh clearly explains and communicates the entire content and it was understandable. I got some great ideas to implement when I get back to work. Thank you!”
Angeline Khunon, Stakeholder Relations & Partnerships Officer, NRF (National Research Foundation)
“Wow, I had no knowledge whatsoever! Now it makes sense. Very informative, well presented, very interactive. This has been a brilliant overview of what the essentials of Social Media and Digital Marketing is all about. Thank you very much. I look forward to coursers you may offer in the future!”

Rego Mavimbela , Marketing Services Manager, Group Customer Services, Eskom
“Thank you very much for a very professional presentation. I have learned a lot and I’m not as scared of Facebook anymore. I would also like to thank Martie for all the effort she’s put in to push us to convince our managers to attend this. The venue and service all round definitely gets a ‘Like’ from me. Lunch was very nice and Hugh was excellent, both on Monday with the one-on-one training and with the Social Media course, today. I am a lot more comfortable and understand a lot more about social media and how to use it and where to apply.”
Elmarie Turner, Customer Support Representative, Nashua Communications
“Fantastic! I have learnt the skills of Social Media marketing and I now understand online user behaviour on the Social Media platforms better. The environment is great. I also learnt how to use Social Media tools and trends that will become popular in the near future.”

How do you determine the style required for the course?
For our training to be successful, it’s absolutely essential that we know as much as possible about the individuals involved. We send questionnaires to all delegates to assess their needs and afterwards again to assess development of every course. We also talk at length to individuals and managers to determine the types of personalities we will be training. We then match up the training to the individual. So if, for example, someone is introverted by nature, we’ll provide tools that they’ll be comfortable using.
Is your training suitable for my industry?
Our training has been utilised by just about every industry in Africa, from small start-up businesses looking to improve their online efficiency, through to multinational organisations.
What happens after the training course?
No matter what course you attend you will become a member of Digital Business Academy Community. This gives you access to loads of resources and materials which will enable you to continually develop your knowledge and your company’s performance.
